Libya’s Government of National Unity (GNU) denied on Friday reports claiming the resignation of several ministers, asserting that all cabinet members continue to carry out their duties as normal.
In an official statement posted on its “Hakomitna” Facebook platform, the government said: “All ministers are continuing their work normally,” and added that circulating reports of two ministers and several deputy ministers stepping down “do not reflect the truth.”
The clarification comes amid growing unrest in the capital Tripoli, where demonstrators have taken to the streets demanding the government’s resignation, citing political tensions and governance concerns.
The alleged resignations had spread earlier on social media, fueling speculation over the stability of Prime Minister Abdulhamid Dbeibah’s administration as Libya grapples with ongoing political uncertainty.
