New Delhi and Islamabad Confirm Open-Ended Ceasefire

Officials in both Pakistan and India have confirmed that the ceasefire agreement reached between the two countries following days of military confrontation is not bound by any specific timeframe, putting an end to speculation that the truce would expire early this week if not renewed.

Widespread media reports had suggested the ceasefire was nearing its end. However, officials from both sides clarified on Sunday that no talks were scheduled that day between the countries’ respective Directors of Military Operations. They further emphasized that the ceasefire — originally brokered through intense U.S. diplomatic efforts — remains in effect.
