U.S. President Donald Trump announced the start of negotiations between Russia and Ukraine for a ceasefire, following a two-hour call with Russian President Vladimir Putin.

While Brussels threatens severe sanctions in light of Moscow’s increasing support for military operations in Ukraine, the Russian president responded by announcing the test of an intercontinental ballistic missile, the “Sarmat,” in a message carrying multiple military and political implications.
