Army Chief Abdel Fattah al-Burhan has issued a decision to appoint Kamal Idris, a former UN official, as Prime Minister. This decision comes less than three weeks after the appointment of Ambassador Dafallah al-Haj to the same position.
Idris has stated that he will prioritize living conditions, stopping the war, and facilitating humanitarian operations.
Press sources recall that Idris was involved in altering his birth date to secure a position at the United Nations in 1982 and has been seeking a political position in Sudan for over 20 years.
