Sudanese Army Announces Completion of Khartoum Purge from Rapid Support Forces

On Tuesday, the Sudanese army announced the completion of the “purification of the entire Khartoum state” from the Rapid Support Forces, as part of a large-scale military operation that began weeks ago to regain control of their last strongholds in southern and western Omdurman.

In this context, Sudan accused the United Arab Emirates of direct military intervention in the conflict, holding it responsible for the attack on the city of Port Sudan on May 4.

These military developments come as the intensity of the ongoing conflict since April 2023 escalates, with Rapid Support Forces continuing to target army positions using long-range weapons and drones.
