Cautious Calm Returns to Tripoli After Deployment of 444th Brigade

A cautious calm has returned to the Libyan capital, Tripoli  with daily life gradually resuming following a day of heightened security tensions in several neighborhoods.

According to local media reports, including RT Libya, the deployment of the 444th Combat Brigade across key areas of the city played a crucial role in restoring order—particularly in the Salah al-Din and Abu Salim districts, which witnessed armed clashes earlier this week.

The development comes after Prime Minister Abdul Hamid Dbeibah announced that the Ministries of Interior and Defense had successfully reestablished control over the capital, declaring that “Tripoli’s security is a red line.”

Videos circulating on news outlets and social media show 444th Brigade patrols securing the streets amid a heavy security presence, as commercial activity and daily routines begin to recover.

Observers view the return to calm as a critical test of the government’s ability to maintain stability in a city still fragmented by competing armed factions—where peace remains fragile and susceptible to sudden flare-ups.
