The Finnish Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced on Monday that it had summoned the Russian ambassador following a suspected violation of Finnish airspace by two Russian military aircraft last week.

In a statement posted on its official account on the platform X, the ministry said it had requested an explanation from the ambassador regarding the alleged incursion, according to Agence France-Presse (AFP).

The diplomatic move comes amid growing tensions, as Russia continues to build military bases and expand its presence near the Finnish border. According to The Telegraph, the buildup may signal where Moscow intends to shift its military focus once a ceasefire is reached in Ukraine.
