The Deputy Secretary-General of the Lebanese Hezbollah, Naeem Qassem, announced on Sunday that the funeral for the party’s former Secretary-General, Hassan Nasrallah, will take place on February 23.
This announcement comes after security conditions prevented the holding of the funeral shortly after his martyrdom due to an Israeli strike during the conflict between the two sides last September.
Additionally, the funeral for Hashem Safieddine, the head of the party’s Executive Council, who was martyred in a similar strike in early October, will also take place.
Naeem Qassem indicated that Nasrallah will be buried south of Beirut, while Safieddine will be laid to rest in his hometown in southern Lebanon.
