Israel closed its airspace and suspended operations at Ben Gurion International Airport early Friday as a precautionary measure, anticipating possible military retaliation from Iran following a large-scale Israeli offensive targeting nuclear and military facilities across Iran.
The Israeli military launched the operation, dubbed “Rising Lion,” in the early hours of Friday, striking multiple strategic sites, including the Natanz nuclear facility, and reportedly killing high-ranking Iranian commanders and nuclear scientists.
Channel 12 News reported that “Israel’s airspace has been completely closed until further notice following the launch of the IDF’s operation in Iran and the expected Iranian response.”
The move comes amid heightened alert across Israel, as authorities brace for potential counterattacks from Tehran in response to one of the most significant Israeli military operations in recent years.
