Japan’s lower house of parliament was officially dissolved today (Wednesday), paving the way for a snap election as Prime Minister Shigeru Ishiba seeks to secure a majority for his party in the lower house.
The snap election is scheduled for 27 October, with campaigning starting on 15 October.
