Jafar Panahi’s film “No Bears” has won the Palme d’Or at the Cannes Film Festival, marking a significant achievement for the director who has been barred from leaving Iran for over 15 years.
This victory continues the remarkable journey of independent distributor Neon, which has supported the last six Palme d’Or-winning films.
Cate Blanchett presented the award to Panahi, who was imprisoned in Iran and has created films in secrecy, including “This Is Not a Film” and “Taxi.”
