Real Madrid officially announced the appointment of former player Xabi Alonso as head coach until the summer of 2028.

Alonso will join the Spanish club after completing his season with Bayer Leverkusen and will be presented in a ceremony next Monday. He is regarded as a club legend, having played 236 matches and won 6 titles.

Alonso began his coaching career at Real Madrid’s academy, leading the youth team to success.
