The Russian Ministry of Defense announced on Monday that its forces had taken control of two additional towns in eastern Ukraine, as part of ongoing military operations in the region.
In an official statement, the ministry said that Russian units had seized control of the towns of Vladimirovka and Belovody, located in Ukraine’s Sumy region. It added that Ukrainian armed forces suffered losses of up to 275 soldiers during the course of the fighting.
