Presidential candidates in South Korea officially launched their election campaigns on Monday, ahead of the scheduled vote on June 3, according to South Korea’s Yonhap News Agency.
Voters will head to the polls early next month to elect a successor to former President Yoon Suk-yeol.
Polls indicate that Democratic Party candidate Lee Jae-myung is currently leading the race, followed by Kim Moon-soo of the People Power Party, a former labor minister, in second place. Lee Jun-seok of the New Reform Party is positioned in third place.
