Spain Orders 160,000 to Stay Home After Industrial Fire Near Barcelona

Spanish authorities have ordered over 160,000 people to stay home on Saturday after a fire broke out in an industrial warehouse, releasing a toxic chlorine cloud that covered a wide area near Barcelona.

The fire ignited in the coastal town of Vilanova i la Geltrú, where the warehouse stores pool cleaning materials, according to the regional fire department.

No casualties have been reported so far, and the department confirmed that it deployed a large number of units to control the fire and is monitoring the emissions for changes and toxicity levels.
