The Sudanese civil forces alliance “Sumud” has called for the establishment of an international investigative committee regarding allegations against the army for using chemical weapons, as well as all violations committed during the ongoing war since mid-April 2023.
The alliance affirmed its efforts to rally support for a negotiating platform to halt the war, which has resulted in the deaths of approximately 150,000 people so far.
In related news, Doctors Without Borders reported thousands of suspected cholera cases in Sudan, with 500 cases recorded in a single day in Khartoum.
The Sudanese Doctors’ Syndicate described the health situation as “catastrophic,” noting that the deterioration in health conditions is due to the significant repercussions of the war.
