Syrian President Ahmad Al-Sharaa visited the southern province of Daraa on Friday, marking his first trip to the region since the ousting of former President Bashar al-Assad.

According to a statement posted by the Daraa Governorate on its official Telegram channel, Al-Sharaa arrived in the provincial capital to a large public reception and warm welcome.

Photos shared by local authorities showed crowds gathering in the streets to greet the president, underscoring the symbolic importance of the visit.

Daraa is widely regarded as the birthplace of the 2011 uprising in Syria and holds significant historical and political relevance in the country’s recent history.
