Since Friday, the UAE has experienced an unprecedented heatwave, with temperatures reaching 51.6°C, the highest recorded in May since 2003, according to the National Center of Meteorology.

The peak temperature was recorded in Abu Dhabi, with humidity levels reaching 80%, increasing discomfort for residents.

The center has warned people to avoid direct sun exposure and to stay hydrated.
