Voters in Albania headed to the polls on Sunday morning to cast their ballots in a crucial parliamentary election, where Prime Minister Edi Rama is seeking an unprecedented fourth term.
Polling stations opened at 7 AM local time and closed in the evening, with final results expected to be announced on Monday.
Rama, who has been in power since 2013, faces his traditional rival, Sali Berisha, with opinion polls indicating a comfortable lead for Rama.
A total of 3.7 million voters, including Albanians living abroad, have the right to choose 140 members for the next parliament.
