Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said on Friday that the “Pharaoh of our era,” Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, will not escape the consequences of his actions in Gaza and across Palestine.

Erdogan made the remarks to reporters as he left the Ali ibn Abi Talib Mosque in Istanbul after Friday prayers. He referred to the pro-Palestine march on Thursday, stating: “We welcomed 2026 with historic scenes yesterday on the Galata Bridge in Istanbul, which confirms that Palestine is not alone.”

He added: “We see the plight of Gaza’s children in tents amid wind, rain, and mud; their prayers will surely follow Netanyahu.” The Turkish president also announced he will hold a phone call with U.S. President Donald Trump next Monday.
