The European Union on Wednesday said it “strongly rejects” attacks carried out by Israeli settlers against Palestinians in the occupied West Bank, calling for those responsible to be held accountable without exception.
Alexander Stutzmann, the EU’s representative in Jerusalem, told Anadolu Agency during a field visit to the village of al-Shabab, west of Ramallah, that settler attacks are “unacceptable and effective measures must be taken to prevent their recurrence.”
The visit was conducted in the presence of several EU ambassadors as part of efforts to assess conditions on the ground.
Local residents said the village has been subjected to repeated raids by settlers, including theft of facilities, destruction of property, cutting electricity cables, and the use of dogs and waste to drive activists away from the area.
There was no immediate comment from Israeli authorities.
