European Union leaders are meeting in Copenhagen on Wednesday to discuss strengthening the continent’s defenses in the wake of the ongoing Russia-Ukraine war.
The summit is taking place under tight security measures following recent sightings of unidentified drones over Danish airspace, heightening tensions in recent days, according to Agence France-Presse.
Thousands of police officers have been deployed across the capital, while civilian drones have been banned. NATO member states and partners outside the alliance have also sent reinforcements as European leaders gather in Copenhagen for long-planned talks, ahead of a broader European summit scheduled for Thursday.
