European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen confirmed that EU leaders will not leave the Brussels summit on Thursday without reaching an agreement on funding for Ukraine.
Speaking to reporters, von der Leyen said, “We need to find a solution today,” while fully supporting Belgium’s call for all EU member states to share the risks associated with the reconstruction loan, which involves using frozen Russian assets.
Negotiations are expected to extend, with EU leaders likely to remain in Brussels until Friday to finalize the agreement.
