Belgium hosted the EU summit in Brussels from December 17 to 19, concluding with a historic agreement for €90 billion in funding for Ukraine for the period 2026-2027.

The financing will come through loans backed by profits from frozen Russian assets, avoiding legal risks, particularly in Belgium, where the assets are held.
