Germany, France, and Britain reaffirmed Monday that they will continue using diplomatic channels with Iran despite the reimposition of UN sanctions.

In a joint statement, the three countries stressed that sanctions “do not mean the end of diplomacy,” urging Tehran to uphold its nuclear commitments.

The UK added 71 new names to its sanctions list.

The statement underlined that dialogue remains the best option to avoid further escalation amid fears of potential regional conflict.
