Syria’s High Electoral Commission announced the names of People’s Assembly winners in 11 provinces, following the country’s first parliamentary elections since the fall of the previous regime.
Commission spokesperson Nawar Najma stated that women’s representation was low, with only 4% of winners being female, compared to 96% men.
Najma described the vote as a step toward a unified Syrian identity, adding that the new assembly will work on drafting a permanent constitution.
He confirmed that the results are final, as no appeals were filed within the 12–24-hour legal window after the announcement.
The elections took place across 49 electoral districts, with delays only in parts of Raqqa, Hasakah, and Sweida due to political and security instability.
