Floods and Landslides Hit Northern Vietnam, Cutting Off Roads

Heavy rainfall triggered severe floods and landslides in Vietnam’s northern Cao Bang province, where precipitation exceeded 200 millimeters, and the Bang and Gam rivers rose to critical warning levels.

The Disaster Management Committee reported that soil saturation had surpassed 85%, increasing the risk of sudden landslides.

Additionally, 13 incidents were recorded on national roads, disrupting traffic and hindering rescue operations.

Authorities deployed emergency and evacuation teams, urging residents to move to safe areas as heavy rains persist.
