Floods and Landslides Hit Southern Japan

Kyushu Island in southern Japan experienced heavy rains on Friday, causing floods and landslides that prompted authorities to evacuate over 360,000 people in Kagoshima and Miyazaki prefectures.

The Disaster Management Agency reported that a mudslide swept through a house in Aira, injuring two people.

Meteorologists warned of continued rain and storms due to a low-pressure system centered south of the country.
