Sudden floods in Suceava County, northern Romania, have resulted in the deaths of three people and affected more than 2,500 others, in addition to destroying hundreds of homes and infrastructure.

Rescue teams from eight counties participated in debris removal and evacuating residents, including 120 people who were airlifted.

Authorities have called for urgent assistance and urged the strengthening of disaster prevention mechanisms.
