Former Ukrainian Parliament Speaker Andriy Parubiy (54) was shot dead on Saturday, August 30, after an unidentified gunman opened fire on him in the western city of Lviv, prosecutors announced.

Authorities said the attacker fired several shots that killed Parubiy instantly before fleeing the scene.
Security forces have launched a wide-scale manhunt to identify and arrest the assailant.
