The Israeli military confirmed that four soldiers, including an officer, were killed during fighting in southern Lebanon, as casualties continue to mount on the northern front.

The army added that three additional soldiers were injured in the same incident, including one seriously and two moderately.

According to Haaretz, the total number of Israeli soldiers killed in recent fighting in Lebanon has risen to 10.

The Times of Israel reported that the incident occurred when Nahal reconnaissance forces encountered a Hezbollah-affiliated armed cell during an operation in southern Lebanon.
