Four people were fatally stabbed in Washington state on Tuesday, and the suspect was shot dead by a police officer, local authorities said.
The Pierce County Sheriff’s Office said deputies responded to reports of a man believed to have violated a restraining order at a home near Tacoma in the western U.S. state.
In a statement posted on Facebook, the sheriff’s office said that while deputies were en route, multiple witnesses called at around 9:30 a.m. reporting that a man was stabbing people outside the residence.
Authorities did not immediately release further details about the victims or the circumstances surrounding the shooting.
