France Calls on NATO to Hold Drills in Greenland Amid Trump’s Annexation Threats

The French presidency announced on Wednesday that Paris wants NATO to conduct a “drill” in Greenland and is ready to participate, while U.S. President Donald Trump reiterated his desire to annex the Danish autonomous territory.

The Élysée Palace stated, “France is requesting NATO exercises in Greenland and is ready to contribute,” emphasizing Paris’s commitment to protecting its interests in the region.

Trump’s threats have negatively affected already strained relations with European powers, highlighting escalating tensions over the Arctic and its strategic resources.

President Trump is scheduled to deliver a speech today at the World Economic Forum in Davos.
