French authorities announced that they have contained the largest wildfires the country has witnessed in decades in the Aude region, which have burned over 17,000 hectares, resulting in one death and 13 injuries, as well as the destruction of dozens of homes.
Approximately 2,000 firefighters continue their efforts amid strong winds and high temperatures exceeding 30 degrees Celsius, while thousands of residents remain on alert for potential fire outbreaks.
