French magazine France Football will unveil the 30-player shortlist for the 2025 Ballon d’Or on Thursday, ahead of the official awards ceremony set to take place in Paris on September 22.

The upcoming list is expected to feature several global football stars, including Spanish wonderkid Lamine Yamal of FC Barcelona, French internationals Ousmane Dembélé of Paris Saint-Germain, and Kylian Mbappé, who recently joined Real Madrid.

Arab football is also anticipated to be represented in the nominations, with Moroccan defender Achraf Hakimi (Paris Saint-Germain) and Egyptian striker Mohamed Salah (Liverpool) among the potential contenders.

This year’s Ballon d’Or will be awarded based on players’ performances during the 2024–2025 season, running from August 1, 2024, to July 31, 2025, rather than the traditional calendar year evaluation.
