France Football magazine on Thursday revealed the shortlist for the prestigious 2025 Kopa Trophy, awarded annually to the best player in the world under the age of 21.
Among the standout nominees is Spain and Barcelona starlet Lamine Yamal, widely considered a leading contender for the award following a remarkable season at both club and international levels. He is joined by Barcelona teammate Pau Cubarsí and Real Madrid defender Dean Huijsen, who also represents Spain.
Paris Saint-Germain duo Désiré Doué and João Neves made the list, alongside Lille’s Ayoub Bouaddi and Chelsea’s Brazilian rising talent Estevão Willian.
The Kopa Trophy, named after French football legend Raymond Kopa, is awarded by a panel of former Ballon d’Or winners. It recognizes the most outstanding young talent in world football and has become a key highlight of the annual Ballon d’Or ceremony.
