French President Emmanuel Macron announced on Monday that France will collaborate with Egypt to organize a humanitarian aid conference for Gaza in the coming weeks, aimed at supporting the reconstruction of the conflict-stricken territory.

Speaking to reporters after arriving in Egypt for the Sharm El-Sheikh Peace Summit, Macron confirmed that Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas will attend the summit, describing his presence as a “positive indicator.”

Macron emphasized that France will play “a very significant role” alongside the Palestinian Authority in addressing Gaza’s reconstruction needs.
