French Government Survives Two No-Confidence Votes Over 2026 Budget

The government of Prime Minister Sébastien Lecornu survived two no-confidence motions in the French parliament after passing part of the 2026 budget without a direct vote.

Centrist and conservative parties did not join efforts to bring down the government, allowing it to remain in power despite rising political tensions.
