Gaza Famine Death Toll Rises to 101, Including 80 Children, as Hunger Crisis Deepens

The death toll from famine in the Gaza Strip has climbed to 101, including 80 children, the Gaza Health Ministry said Tuesday, warning of an escalating humanitarian catastrophe.

Fifteen more people, including four children, died from starvation in the past 24 hours alone. Dr. Mohammad Abu Salmiya, Director of Al-Shifa Medical Complex, reported that 21 children have died from malnutrition in the past 72 hours in various hospitals, including Al-Shifa in Gaza City, Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital in Deir al-Balah, and Nasser Hospital in Khan Younis.

“We are heading toward terrifying numbers of deaths due to the starvation imposed on Gaza’s population,” Abu Salmiya warned, adding that 900,000 children in the territory are facing hunger, with 70,000 of them already suffering from acute malnutrition.
