At least 30 migrants are dead or missing after their boat capsized off the Greek island of Crete amid rough weather conditions, according to the International Organization for Migration.

The vessel had departed from Tobruk in eastern Libya on February 19 before overturning approximately 20 nautical miles south of Kali Limenes.

Twenty people — mostly Egyptians and Sudanese — were rescued, and four bodies were recovered. Shipwrecks remain a recurring tragedy along Mediterranean migration routes.
