Greek authorities announced they have largely controlled the wildfires that broke out near Asprochoma in Evros and on the island of Thassos.

Firefighting teams worked overnight to prevent the flames from spreading to residential areas, while aircraft helped contain remaining hotspots on Thursday morning.

A total of 55 firefighters participated in the firefighting efforts, supported by volunteers and equipment.
