Hamas informed Egyptian and Qatari mediators on Monday of its acceptance of their new proposal for a ceasefire with Israel in the Gaza Strip, without requesting any amendments, according to sources within the movement and Palestinian factions.
The plan put forward by the mediators includes a 60-day truce and the release of prisoners in two phases. However, an Israeli official said Tel Aviv has not yet received Hamas’s formal response.
Diplomatic sources confirmed that Egypt and Qatar will invite U.S. envoy Steve Witkoff to Cairo to finalize the Gaza deal.
