Hamas announced on Wednesday that it has exchanged lists of prisoners to be released as part of the ongoing indirect negotiations with Israel in the Egyptian resort city of Sharm el-Sheikh.
Tahir al-Nunu, media adviser to the head of Hamas’s Political Bureau, said in a statement from Sharm el-Sheikh that “today, the lists of prisoners to be released were exchanged according to the agreed criteria and numbers,” without providing further details.
Al-Nunu added that the Hamas delegation “demonstrated the necessary positivity and responsibility to achieve the required progress and finalize the agreement.” He noted that mediators “are making great efforts to remove any obstacles to implementing the ceasefire steps,” adding that “a sense of optimism is prevailing among all parties.”
