Havana Protest Condemns Killing of 32 Cuban Officers in Venezuela

Tens of thousands of Cubans took to the streets of Havana to protest the killing of 32 officers from former Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro’s security team during a raid on his residence in Caracas.

Protesters claimed the operation was overseen by the United States to extradite Maduro to Washington to face drug-related charges.

The demonstration followed U.S. President Donald Trump’s warning that Havana must “make a deal before it’s too late.”

Cuban authorities declared the slain officers “martyrs defending a Venezuelan ally.”
