Iraq experienced heavy rainfall in recent hours, causing widespread flooding, especially in the north and northeast, amid forecasts from the Meteorological Authority indicating continued instability for the next four days.
Local sources reported that the rain flooded streets, raised river levels, and shut major roads, most notably the Kirkuk–Baghdad highway near Tuz Khurmatu.
Emergency teams are working to reopen affected roads and warn residents to stay away from flood channels.
