Forces affiliated with the Houthi group raided the offices of United Nations agencies in the Yemeni capital, Sanaa, this morning, including the headquarters of the World Food Programme (WFP) and the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF).
UN officials confirmed that at least 11 staff members were detained.
A WFP spokesperson described the arbitrary detention of humanitarian workers as “unacceptable,” raising grave concerns for the safety of aid personnel in the country.
