Malaysian authorities are continuing search operations near Langkawi Island after a boat carrying about 300 Rohingya refugees fleeing Myanmar sank, killing seven and rescuing 13.

The number of missing persons remains unknown, as rescue teams scour an area of 170 square nautical miles in search of more survivors or bodies.
