ICC Rejects Israeli Appeal to Overturn Arrest Warrants for Netanyahu and Gallant

The International Criminal Court on Friday rejected an appeal filed by Israel seeking to overturn arrest warrants issued against Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and former Defense Minister Yoav Gallant over alleged genocide and war crimes committed in the Gaza Strip.

According to international media reports, the court upheld its earlier decision to continue investigations into Israel’s military campaign in Gaza, citing “reasonable grounds” to believe that Netanyahu and Gallant bear criminal responsibility for war crimes and crimes against humanity.

The ICC had issued the warrants last November after finding preliminary evidence suggesting the two Israeli officials were involved in serious violations during Israel’s military operations in the enclave.
