Indonesia Suspends Plan to Deploy Troops to Gaza Amid Regional Escalation

Indonesia has decided to suspend plans to deploy troops to the Gaza Strip due to escalating military tensions in the Middle East, the presidential office said on Wednesday.

Presidential spokesperson Prasetyo Hadi told reporters in Jakarta that all plans related to sending forces to Gaza are now “on hold,” according to the Indonesian news agency Antara.

Indonesia had previously announced that around 8,000 troops would be ready for deployment by the end of June as part of an International Stabilization Force.”

The force is part of the transitional governance framework for Gaza announced by the White House on January 16, which includes a Peace Council, an Executive Gaza Council, a National Committee for Gaza Administration, and the stabilization force.
