Iran and European Powers Agree to Continue Nuclear Talks After Second Round in Istanbul

Iran and three European countries — the United Kingdom, France, and Germany — have agreed to continue diplomatic talks over Tehran’s nuclear program following the conclusion of the second round of discussions held in Istanbul on Friday.

Kazem Gharibabadi, Iran’s Deputy Foreign Minister and head of the Iranian delegation, described the meeting with European representatives as “serious and detailed,” in a post on the social media platform X (formerly Twitter).

The session lasted approximately three and a half hours and addressed the future of the 2015 nuclear agreement, known as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), as well as the broader regional and international implications of Iran’s nuclear activities.
